Her studio is located in Helsinki.</span></p><p class="clear pt20"><em class="profile_name">出品者の想い</em>マリメッコの前身であるプリンテックス社による、1950年代製のファブリックです。ヴオッコがデザインした手描きの格子は、筆のかすれ具合も藍色もとても日本的。Kukkopiili はフィンランド民藝の鳥笛。フィンランドと日本、民藝とモダニズムの中間にあるようなデザインに惹かれました。掛け軸のように日本のご家庭で愉しんでいただけたらと思います。<br><br>It is a fabric from the 1950s produced by Printex, the predecessor of Marimekko. The hand-drawn grid design by Vuokko is distinctly Japanese, with the subtle brush strokes and the use of indigo blue adding a hint of the Japanese aesthetic. Kukkopiili is a Finnish folk art bird whistle. I was attracted to designs that seem to be situated between Finland and Japan, folk art and modernism.
