<img class="profile_photo" src="/images/item_page/prof_tani_shunsuke.jpg" alt="谷俊介"><span class="with_photo"><em class="profile_name">出品者：谷俊介 / on the shore 店主</em>新宿区早稲田で上海を中心とした中国のアンティーク家具、現代作家の作品やコンテンポラリーデザインプロダクト等を扱う「on the shore」というお店を運営。<br><br>I operate a shop called "on the shore" in Waseda, Shinjuku Ward, where we deal with Chinese antique furniture, contemporary artworks, and design products mainly from Shanghai.</span></p><p class="clear pt20"><em class="profile_name">出品者の想い</em>マジストレッティが日本で設計した唯一の住宅が東京にあった。建設にあたって来日した彼が、施工を担当する日本の一流工務店との打ち合わせに臨んだ時の話だ。彼は担当者が用意した素材を手に取り「こんな品質のものを扱う工務店は信用できない！」と激怒したそうだ。その後、工務店が用意した素材はどれも一級品ばかり。建設現場も緊張感に包まれ、素晴らしい住宅が完成したとのこと。彼は最初の打ち合わせで、わざと品質に妥協を許さない態度を取ることで、、、という話を聞いてからこの椅子を見てみる。この椅子は1960年頃に設計されたゴルフクラブのレストランの為にデザインされた。農家で一般的に使われていた無名の椅子や、50年代にイタリアで人気のあった北欧デザインからの影響を仄めかしている。<br><br>The only residence designed by Vico Magistretti in Japan was located in Tokyo.This is a story from when he visited Japan for the construction and met with top Japanese construction companies to discuss the project. He reportedly became furious, taking the materials provided by the responsible party, and exclaimed, "I can't trust a construction company that deals with materials of this quality!" - Afterward, it turned out that all the materials provided by the construction company were of top quality. The construction site was also filled with tension, but ultimately, a magnificent residence was completed. After hearing the story about how he deliberately adopted an uncompromising attitude on quality during the initial meetings, I now understand why he reacted this way upon examining the materials for this chair. This chair was designed around 1960 for a restaurant in a golf club.
